We offer a variety of consumer savings accounts to fit the needs of our customers.
Statement Savings Accounts
These accounts are accessible via your debit card and allow you to access your account through Online Banking.
They also allow you to receive free paper or eStatements, set up electronic transactions, and provide overdraft protection when you link to your Essex Savings Bank checking account. There are no fees with a minimum balance of $100 or when making a deposit or withdrawal within a six month time frame. And, fees are waived for account holders 18 years or younger.
Clipper Ship Accounts
Clipper Ship accounts offer unlimited withdrawals and deposits, no monthly fees with a minimum balance of $1,000, and overdraft protection when you link to your Essex Savings Bank checking account. Also, take advantage of increased interest based on your account balance ($0-$9,999; $10,000-$24,999; $25,000-$49,999; $50,000 plus).
Holiday Club Accounts
Our Holiday Club Accounts are easy to open year round, allow you to set up automatic direct deposits, and are an ideal way to save for holiday expenses such as vacations or special occasions. You’ll be able to receive check plus interest in October when the account matures. For specific fees, see Schedule of Consumer Account Charges.

CDs allow you to save for specific goals, with three month to seven year terms available at a guaranteed annual percentage yield. You’ll know how much your Certificate will be worth at maturity. Interest is earned from the day of deposit to the day of withdrawal, and interest is compounded for maximum interest earnings. You may deposit interest in another account or receive a check (penalties for early withdrawals may apply).
